Mr. Red
02:54
|

Lock up your door, lock it real tight
The devil's come to town
You'll see no light, 'til the end of your life
Don't you make a sound.
If he comes knocking, it won't be nice
And he'll leave you with that one thing that you don't want in your life
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! He's closing in
Go grab your holy cross and your violin
He's gonna' steal all your money
And take all your wives
So don't you go leaving your home tonight.
"Mr. Red is the name, how do you do?
I'm not from round here but I've been watching you
I've come for your soul so say goodbye to your wife
'Cos where we're going Sir you best be in for a ride"
If he comes knocking, it won't be nice
And he'll leave you with that one thing that you don't want in your life
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! He's closing in
Go grab your holy cross and your violin
He's gonna' steal all your money
And take all your wives
So don't you go leaving your home tonight.
[Instrumental Break]
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! He's closing in
Go grab your holy cross and your violin
He's gonna' steal all your money
And take all your wives
So don't you go leaving your home tonight.
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! He's closing in
Go grab your holy cross and your violin

This Town
03:22
|
|||
Puddles line the streets filled with rainbows inside them
But lift your head up son you'll see colour's just hiding
From these streets as the oil spill remains the most inviting scene
And the smog from they chimneys creates a black cloud
But the people underneath it remain 'oh so proud'
But what's to be proud of when your kids are all off trying green.
So I sit writing songs in the park
While kids use graffiti and think that it's smart
To ride around in shopping carts, when it's dark.
Get me out of this town with its dark, grey streets
Let me play music wherever my feet land
Surrounded by people who appreciate what I do.
You all tell me stories 'bout how to live my life
But what if I'm to tell you "it's all a load of SH*TE"
'Cos it's not up to you, to make my mind up for me
Got decisions still to make, university on one hand
But all I wanna d is make music with my band and
Get up on the stage, follow the path of my dreams.
So I sit and I think what to do
While the rest of the world blocks the field of my view
Out of the window that I'm staring through, something new?
Get me out of this town with its dark, grey streets
Let me play music wherever my feet land
Surrounded by people who appreciate what I do.
'Cos I'm sick of this Town and I'm sick of you people
Trying to live a lie saying everyone's equal
While I'm scraping sh*t off a plate just to make a small wage
Get me out of this town with its dark, grey streets
Let me play music wherever my feet land
Surrounded by people who appreciate what I do.
And once I am out I will never turn around
I'll just keep walking away from that cloud
And hold my head high in a place I could truly be proud
Not this dirty old town.

Trains

Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left...
Can we go back in time to the day
When we were kids, no jobs, just sit around and play?
Thinkin' bout all the times we had
All the things we did whether they were good or bad
Why, why, did you have to leave 'cos not having you around
Is like I can't breathe.
We're not glad, did we do bad?
Cos you got on that train and left us all sad
Take a breath just take a chance
All we wanned was a little bit of love and romance but no...
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left...
Thats right, you did it bad this time
You didn't even think it through before you went this time
But life goes on, keep on moving little soldier
'memba daddy always told ya' not to leap but just to love
Yeah, no thoughts left behind from past times
Memories, you and me, we were free
So keep your hopes up high and your head down low
And nobody in this world will ever let you go (Get on a train)
Take a breath just take a chance
All we wanned was a little bit of love and romance (Get on a train) but no...
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left...
[Instrumental break]
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left
Get on a train, take a breath
It's okay now there's nothing left... (x2)

Annabelle
02:35
|
|||
He was only fifteen
She walked about like she was the Queen
And when the boys stared, she'd just flick her hair
And pretend she'd not seen.
He was only a freak
Spent his time playing RPGs
His friends were all online, maybe that's why
His chances looked bleak
Then he picked up a guitar
And he sang "Annabelle"
Then he picked up a guitar
And he sang it so well
It was only that week
That the girl finally noticed our geek
And when the boys stared at the unlikely pair
She kissed him on the cheek
When she came round for tea
With nothing to watch on TV she said
"I haven't heard you play that song in ages
Will you play it for me?"
Then he picked up a guitar
And he sang "Annabelle"
Then he picked up a guitar
And he sang it so well
He was only fifteen
She walked about like she was the Queen
But now he feels like a King, her finger bears the ring
She's the girl of his dreams
Because he picked up a guitar
And he sang "Annabelle"
Because he picked up a guitar
And he sang it so well
And he sang it so well (x2)

Coconut Rum
03:17
|
|||
I was on the drink again last night
I didn't know where I was
Because I couldn't see in-front of me
I felt like I was lost
The morning after came so fast
Waking up at 2 o'clock
Getting out of bed too quick I felt my stomach drop
We'll party til the morning comes, we'll never sit there twiddling thumbs
We'd rather drink coconut rum, starting fights with everyone
And in the morning we'll regret the guys we hit and girls we met
We'll wake up with an aching head, and cant recite the alphabet
Everyone knows the feeling of being a drunken mess
Doing what you want and not caring less
Getting naked and wasted and happy, and having lots of fun
Until you wake up tomorrow, and see the damage done
Photos go up on Facebook
The police are at my door
Its 3 o'clock in the morning
What am I arrested for?
They say: "Son, you were drunk last night
You don't have to say anymore"
I say: "Sorry officer if I was having fun
I didn't know it was against the law"
We'll walk back home ten miles away still slightly drunk on the next day
We'll sober up along the way, I think my liver will decay
I'll get some texts through from a friend, he'll tell me off for things I said
About his girl that I will never remember
Everyone knows the feeling of being a drunken mess
Doing what you want and not caring less
Getting naked and wasted and happy, and having lots of fun
Until you wake up tomorrow, and see the damage done
